Alone with my thought

Thunder in the distance clashes The dark sky light up as lighting flashes  Trees bow down to the wind Rain falling  Heart hurting  Drowning in my own tears Just the thought of lossing you break my heart into pieces Tears drop burnt hole in the horizon  Now the desire to shine is lost ©Akonu Emmanuel

Corruption in the system

Graceful lilac ;blinding light Harsh white ;dark shadows  Ocean blue;cautions voice  Corruption has its hold Like a sickness attache to the very core of a nation  Like a dark cloud that threatens  The sky's calmness It sucks a nation  Into a whirlpool and hardships Prevent nation’s progress Entangled with the strings of hunger Swing with the flow of corruption  Emotionally traumatized  Intellectually denied Our flaws lies beneath the mask Covered and buried Hesitant, Reluctant to show hospitality  Displaying its splendors with mother nature's kiss of serenity and peace.. It will take more than counter-cultural popularity to effect any tangible change in our society. ©Akonu Emmanuel

The old Path

The Old Path I love the old path When girls could cook Men could work Children run errants  for their parents  Where crime did not pay Integrity was the culture of the people  Cursing  was not encourage  Truth was speaketh at all time Honesty was a virtue  ©Akonu Emmanuel

Candles flickering

Candles flickering  The candles are left with stories untold Shadows have been cast upon muted light Shadows of secrets, love, happiness, sadness until the soft flame burns down  The wick now bent over and gone like a dendelion ©Akonu Emmanuel

Poetry

A perfect woman by Akonu Emmanuel

A perfect woman knows her worth. She don't give in to the negativities of the world. Someone bold enough to carry on. Not afraid if getting hurt. Not that she's immune to getting hurt but she knows it's just for a moment. She's always a goal getter no matter the adversity. Her style and class is know in her modesty  Be it how she talk, walk or dress A simple passing, as subtle as a breeze You stumble and fall in love  Her light brightens up your life  She is a helper She stay with you no matter what  She is just like mother nature ©Akonu Emmanuel

Love is like a flower it grow and show forth is beautiful colors when given is right condition  Was it something you saw? Was it something you thought? Was it something you wrought? Was it something I dropped? You were my nighmare Following me everywhere Dark tendrils  The reality of brutality  Can not be seem as love ©Akonu Emmanuel

The Novel Virus by Akonu Emmanuel

The Novel Virus  We were kept indoors Dare not to venture out Because of a plague that swept over the earth  Started in China now the world is sick Friends and enemies have journeyed to the land of no return The tender rote of consolation  Is now hidden in the darkness of our fear. We are now united by sympathies but still divided by entities Our compassions cannot travel beyond the walls of our rooms Depression and hunger forces many out of their house even though their life is at stake  Medical practitioners are getting frustrated because the outbreak is getting out of hand. Humanity now at the verge of loss(economy breakdown) ©Akonu Emmanuel

The Story

******************** There's a story behind every person There's a reason they act that way They aren't just like that because they want to Indeed action cause reactions in people character  Sometimes the past causes them pain  But the future gives them hope The desire burning in them to be great was there always  Even most a times when they have given their best they still want to give more Indeed while their companions slept there were toiling upward in the night ©Akonu Emmanuel

Seeing Her

As the flowers of the field blossom at the touch of water so does my soul delight at seeing her Her eyes flicked to my lips and then back to my eyes I felt my heartbeat increasing and my knees we're starting to feel weak by her closeness I wish my lips will tell the tales of my heart Love heals all hurts Love is ointment of the soul Love is like a spark of fire when two hearts are join ©Akonu Emmanuel

Truth -dances

Truth dances within phrases and idiom Consciousness is not a part of zombie  Walk towards the light in a row, minds colonized, truth now reveal  Paid to play the wise-man on television  But your words are not in correlation with actions  Crime for honesty, its the dead man's sophistry Hitler's anarchy, ideals falling dominoes calming to be a friends but you are a beast within How do we not filter what is true and false  ©Akonu Emmanuel

Love will lead us home

Encompassing the knowledge of the book Pain can't be attributed to color Racism raising up  Feelings of insecurities surround the mind For throns cease me and cause my heart to bleed Like a sensation of a heart skipping a beat  Brilliance, gigantic and beautiful  Billboard blazed with colorful lights Equity now has no home  Lies wearing the coats of truth  Peace to quench the thirst of violence Hoping love will lead me home ©Akonu Emmanuel

In the beginning

The Beginning  For in the beginning  Man knew fellowship  Saw humanity naming things and so they become For though beginning was a start it bore the end Though they was light but it came out of the darkness  Though they water all over yet land spring forth Plants yielding seed and fruit trees yielding fruit whose seed is in itself For hope creed upon a thirsty soul Once refuse to shine of splendor Yet amongst were bleached purity of rotten roots Be fruitful and multiply  ©Akonu Emmanuel

Rudiment

The rudiments upon a thousand lines As they picture love at the center of the universe Placing our feet on sparking tile As we stay cruising together in a fertile soil To pull you closer and whisper to ur ear about how much I love you  To tell you they is nothing I rather do than spend my whole life loving only u ©Akonu Emmanuel

Mastering his art

Mastering his art Trip on stone and poked my thorns, dreams awaking up in dream  Palm bled and heal in the night Light chase in his mind Mastering is own craft He learn to see through his sketchbook He found himself sailing  in his imagination  Anticipating to reach his dreams and to turn them into reality  Mastering his art He carried his pen of creation ©Akonu Emmanuel

Sound

The sound of drums and the chirpy Chattering sounds of children  As they played and danced under the blue smiling moon I watched them and did let their sound and melodious voices Sleep sound, this oblivion is blissful  The dead die desperately disputing  Mindset of intellectual property obliged and so desperate to be a part of something more now face the master Political puppet perpetuating propaganda for political election Truth and falsehood violating our conception ©Akonu Emmanuel

Friendship 👬

Friendship is not an ‘F' word. If it is.... Then the ‘F' is 'Forever'. There's still alot my hands can't tell. Words my lips has chose to hold firm. You're worthy of Friendship. You're worthy of Brotherhood. You're worthy of Family. Indeed a friend is like a gold that should be treasure  A friend is like an angel that guild u A friend is like a fire that refine u A friend is like a light that help us not to wonder in the dark ©Akonu Emmanuel

A poem about marriage

Marriage Poem It's been years and counting... It's not so easy for us all But it's been beautiful! We've calmed stormy seas. We've grown petals on solid rocks. We've made dreams out of nightmares. We've made stories out of letter Of how you've done this and that. Of how we've both stood and sat. A journey which we thought would be laughable, But since we took the first step, it's been nothing short of laudable, That which was termed incompatible, Has now blossomed to be the most formidable. I'm grateful for the gift of you! For you stir my soul's water anew! There's no point pretending around you! Because my thoughts are made bare before you. Thank you for all the times you've assisted. Thank you for all the small talks and huge talks. Thank you for all the times, your shoulder I cried on. ©Akonu Emmanuel
