My Balance by Akonu.O. Emmanuel

My Balance : A Call to Character, Courage, and Calculated Creativity to succeed

Stop the squabbles over trivialities. Cease the petty power plays that stifle progress and silence valuable contributions. True growth, both personal and collective, demands more. It demands a shift from ego-driven posturing to a collaborative pursuit of excellence.

Versatility is the hallmark of the adaptable. Like the chameleon, blending seamlessly into its surroundings for both protection and sustenance, we must cultivate the ability to navigate diverse systems and cultures without losing sight of our objectives. Rigidity is a death knell in a world of constant change. Be willing to shed ineffective methods and embrace new approaches. Innovation isn't just about dreaming; it's about doing, adapting, and refining until success is achieved.

Courage isn't the absence of fear; it's the mastery of it. It's the grit to face difficulty and danger head-on, transforming fear from a paralyzing force into a catalyst for growth. History is replete with examples of individuals who, despite their challenges, rose from obscurity to prominence through sheer courage. Embrace discomfort, for it is in those challenging spaces that true growth occurs.

Wisdom lies in the application of common sense. Like the serpent, moving quietly and strategically, we must navigate the complexities of life with discernment. Avoid unnecessary risks, learn to strategically retreat from battles we cannot win, and conserve your energy for the pursuits that truly matter.

This is a clarion call to rebrand and reinvent yourself. Expand your capacity, and you will exponentially increase your productivity. Remember, money responds to wisdom and strategic thinking. Financial success is not a matter of luck; it's a consequence of calculated action and intelligent decision-making.

Character is the bedrock of true success. A person devoid of genuine character is a liability, a walking calamity waiting to happen. Creativity, care, and generosity are hollow virtues without the foundation of solid character. Character defines who you are, while good manners, like a polished gem, enhance your presence. Some are "macho without brains," strong but foolish, while others are "beauty without manners," superficially appealing but inwardly lacking. Strive for the balance: strength of character combined with grace and wisdom.

No one is perfect; we all have our vulnerabilities, our "Achilles heel." Instead of focusing on the flaws of others, let's turn the lens inward and examine our own. In today's world, performance has tragically overshadowed character. Quality has been sacrificed at the altar of expediency, excellence has been replaced by mediocrity, and the result is a decline in service and ethical behavior across all sectors of society. This must change.

We don't choose friends to reform them; we choose them to be influenced by them. Surround yourself with individuals who inspire you to be better, who challenge you to grow, and who embody the qualities you admire. The company you keep shapes your thoughts, attitudes, and character. If you value your future, be mindful of your associations and the communities you join.

Finally, remember this: Big without content is meaningless. "Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions; they become habits. Watch your habits; they become character. Watch your character; it becomes your destiny." This is the path to becoming a person of substance, a person of influence, a person who makes a lasting, positive impact on the world.

Good Example by OEA

Being a good example is truly about being a good influence to others in character, honesty, integrity, faithfulness, diligence, commitment, loyalty, trustworthiness and humility.

We are not perfect and acknowledging our mistakes, learning from them, and striving for continuous improvement bring about progress.

Ultimately, being a good example is about living a life of purpose and meaning, guided by strong values and a genuine desire to positively impact our circle and  the world at large .

An example in the Holy book of the Bible is

Samuel’s who stood before the people of Israel asking them whose ox have I taken ,or cheated or oppressed.

This is a powerful testament to a life lived with unwavering integrity and accountability.

Prompting a critical self-reflection: Are we known for our good behavior and honest practices, whether at home or in a professional setting? Can we be trusted with financial matters, or are we susceptible to financial infidelity?

A dishonest person, regardless of their position, is no different from a corrupt politician; both erode trust and damage the fabric of society. Can you be entrusted with vital information and valuable possessions, or are you one of the deceitful individuals we actively try to avoid?

Integrity, the cornerstone of good character, demands that our words align with our actions. It requires honesty, transparency, and the unwavering upholding of moral principles, especially when faced with difficult choices. People are naturally drawn to those they perceive as genuine and trustworthy. Demonstrating integrity builds credibility and inspires confidence, creating a foundation for positive influence.

Responsibility is another essential element; Taking ownership of both successes and failures is paramount. When mistakes occur, acknowledging them, learning from them, and taking corrective action demonstrates accountability and a commitment to growth. Conversely, when achievements are realized, recognizing the contributions of others and sharing credit fosters collaboration and a supportive environment.

Empathy and compassion are equally vital. Showing genuine care and concern for others, striving to understand their perspectives, and offering support in times of need creates a positive ripple effect. Simple acts of kindness, like active listening, offering a helping hand, or expressing appreciation, can profoundly impact those around us.

So in conclusion let try to be an influence to others in character, honesty, integrity, faithfulness, diligence, commitment, loyalty, trustworthiness and humility.

And in so doing we will be a good example to our immediate circle and to the world at large .
