Mental Unawareness killing the society
Among many problems a nation may be facing such as insecurity,corruption,leadership-failure,tribalism, cultism etc. They is a common idiosyncrasy between them which is mental unawareness. So what is “mental unawareness”? Mental Unawareness is the wrong structure of mindset in which people have towards people and the society.
We must understand that a nation development depends on the mental awareness of the individual citizens because that is the way our ability to improve and refine a nation can work. And a nation is a community people committed to a common heritage, language, land, jurisprudence, Ideals and values.
Leaders with mental unawareness are leaders with policy of stomach infrastructure and lack intellectually proficient which result to leadership failure.Insecurity will not be a issue of discussion today, if provision of functional educational system have been in place,I will now quote Johnson Oghuma who said “When men are liberated you will not be thinking of evil. An idle man is the devil’s workshop, a man that is well educated, there is opportunity and hope that something better is coming and will definitely not take to arms,”.Corruption will be minimum today if individuals where train to be honest in their deeding.Although tribalism can’t be axed overnight but when people are enlightened enough to realize how ridiculous tribalism is ,it will reduce to a great extend because we all need to be able to live and grow in a nation that encourages justice, equity, fairplay, a level playing field, and opportunities for fulfilling personal goals. We would observe that cultism is more common in places where the rule of law is broken and where they is a failure of family values which have been eroded but when we enlightening people on the dangers of cultism and institution providing guidance and counseling in order to guide and counsel the students it will stop. The only way we can be mentally aware is by Education and Education is a tool which provides people with knowledge, skill, technique, information, and enables them to know their rights and duties toward their family and society. As well as the nation, it expands our vision and outlook to see the world. It develops the capabilities to fight against injustice, violence, corruption, and many other bad elements in society.Let’s take a look at JAPAN that turn from a consuming nation to a producing nation, children from their schools and home are train on how to be modest and keen on cleanliness, students from the first to sixth primary year must learn ethics in dealing with people, besides this, the kids are taught qualities like grit,self-control and justice .They believe that the goal of education is to instill concepts and character building, not just examination and indoctrination. That is a nation that understand the necessity of enlightening the mental capacity of the people because this individual’s are the future of the nation. We now see the need to learn, unlearn and relearn in other for us to be moving at a pace of progress. When you have a nation that is governor by enlighten persons the nation will definitely grow in every aspect .Let’s imagine a nation where we refine our own crude and use the by-products to power the investment-hungry petrochemical industries, where we grow what we eat and eat what we grow, as exclusively necessary, where government invests heavily on these infrastructure, where technical experts work-hand-in-hand to produce finished products that not only feed the nation but produced in huge quantities for exportations and a government that focus on e-learning. For us to be mentally aware to succeed in this 21st century we need a learning process that takes advantage of the four(4) industrial Revolution,Learning that equips students to flourish in this new era,Learning that leverages educational big data and Al to tailor learning to individual students" cognitive characteristics and achievements”,learning that does not leave anyone behind(developmental disabilities, etc.),learning that makes use of geniuses/ prodigies (the gitted).knowledge is efficiently acquired using EdTech, which maximize and optimize knowledge input including :Cross-curriculum learning, enrichment programs, experiments, feedback and group discussions. Technological resources need to be encouraged to keep pace with their increasing use. In other areas of life since the usage of technology has been insufficiently harnessed in schools for a range of reasons. Yet it is vitally important for children who will be the users and pioneers of new technologies. The widespread use of mobile phones in the developing world holds potential as a classroom and home learning resource. The fact that young people often enjoy using technological devices can increase active engagement with learning technology in tandem with face to face contact with the teacher and other students can make excellent use of minimal resources and connect teachers and students with technological advances seven, reduce the cost of education.
For example making use of ELECTROENCEPHALOGRAPHY(EEG) bands to track students concentration and focus in class they do this because they wa no nt their classrooms to be active and adaptive .
So in conclusion, society must take learning very important in other to prevent mental unawareness from deteriorating the further generation. It is high time authorities and individuals work collaboratively to tackle this issue of mental unawareness.
